Works
Are written in this document names of works (books, films, games, mangas, documentaries, music, computer programs) that I believe especially worthy of one's attention (providing they have similar tastes, lol).
- Barefoot Gen (はだしのゲン)
- A series of comics following a family shortly before to years after the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima. It was a very captivating read.
- Plan 9/9front
- Learning about these operating systems and going down the rabbit hole of related websites will teach you many things about computing. (If you are a programmer, you might even be qualifed enough to write code after. Woah.)
- A brief moment of Ichika (束の間の一花)
- A manga about an ill girl who outlived her life expectancy falling in love with her philosophy teacher. It sounds corny, I know.
- Struck by black rain (黒い雨にうたれて)
- A series of comics made by the same author of はだしのゲン, also taking place in a post-WW2 Japan suffering from the effects of the atomic bombs.
- Hlemmur
- A 2002 documentary revolving around destitute and other unfortunate people spending their time close to one of Reykjavík's main bus stations at the time, Hlemmur.
- A silent voice (聲の形)
- A manga about a deaf girl and her former bully.
- Goodnight Punpun (おやすみプンプン)
- A manga series about a child living and growing up in a dysfunctional family, and a dysfunctional world.
